- Several weeks ago -
One by one the wooden beams got loose by sheer force of the vampire. He had once placed them there to keep outsiders out during his absence from the place. It was a relief that nobody had attempted to pry them open before him. He had left without a notice after all, giving only a small notice and a hefty sum to his former employees. They had been loyal enough, but as most were mortals it was best to give them as little information as he could provide on his leave. Another loud crack was heard as the last beam fell to the floor, giving the vampire full access to open the doors of his bar again. Home,- it was an odd sensation to have a place to return to. Still this was all his and had remained on the fake registered name for all these years. A layer of dust and plastic covered furniture welcomed him inside the gloomy bar. There was no light, nor electricity for that matter, making the windows the only source of light for the moment. It gave the entire place that truly abandoned aesthetic,- for now. Nathaniel had a lot of work to do before this was truly inhabitable back to the point of receiving humans and others of his kind. But first maybe a little snack...the road had made him hungry and the thickness of a civilized area had him riled up for some blood.
His eyes peered over the street as he stepped out, shoving away the wood that now littered the street in front of his little bar. Acting as nonchalant as possible about the feat that he had just performed. Where to go first? A lot of these places appeared new and in the faces he saw in the distance were unfamiliar to his memory. Without further ado, he took the gamble of trailing inside the nearest bar that suited his fancy. Nothing high-class or fancy, just another run of the mill bar for the more 'average' folk.
