Upon successful activation, deal 1/2 ALTER in damage. Stamina to resist not being immobilized in pain, DC activation roll. Armor ineffective, dodging ineffective. Deals +1D damage (up to ALTER) per round maintained. User may affect multiple adjacent targets, +2 DC for a target within 5 meters of the main target, +4 DC if within 10 meters, +6 if within 15, +8 if within 20, and so on. Any targets hit with Force Lightning may resist with CONTROL.
Should the force user so choose, he may attempt to affect more then one target. If a secondary target is within 5 meters of a target that's already been hit, it takes an additional +2 on the roll to hit it. 10 meters requires +4. 15 meters away requires +6, 20 meters away requires +8, and so on. Force lightning may jump from target to target in this manner, at the direction of the force user. It strikes as many targets as the force user wants it to, up to the roll result. Each target may roll CONTROL against the power's activation roll to resist its effects.
The user of Force Lightning cannot dodge or attack while using this skill and if they do, the attack dissipates and is no longer a threat unless the user decides to attack with it again. Wielders of force lightning may choose to spend a Hero point to increase the damage of Force Lightning by +3D. This Hero point does not effect the activation of the power, or anything other than increasing Force Lightning's damage.
Each round the power is maintained, it deals an additional +1D damage up to the user's ALTER. Damage is rerolled every round the power is maintained. By choosing to use this power continuously, the user constantly electrocutes his target and they are immobilized with overwhelming pain unless they succeed on a Stamina roll equal to twice the damage recieved from force lightning that round. As per the rules, Willpower may be used in place of Stamina at +5 the DC.
Alternate Method "Electric Judgement"
* This method of Force Lightning is restricted to Jedi with a Morality of +50 or greater.
** This method of Force Lightning does NOT give Dark Side points.
An alternate form of Force Lightning, discovered by masters of old, and then re-discovered by Jedi Master Plo Koon, produces a greenish arc of electrical energy. This energy is not formed from malice, but in fact requires a state of calm and peace. It requires incredible precision and control in order to prevent the effects from being overly damaging, painful, or lethal. However, when this method of Force Lightning is successful, it works the same way as regular Force Lightning but does not induce pain in the target. Instead the electrical energy interferes with the target's nervous system and muscle control, immobilizing them and acting as STUN damage at the same time.
When targeting a being with Electric Judgement, the Jedi must declare this alternate method before rolling. After rolling Force Lightning, the Jedi then makes a CONTROL roll to convert the damage to STUN. The Difficulty of the Control roll is the result of the Force Lightning roll. If the CONTROL roll succeeds, all damage is converted to STUN. If the CONTROL roll fails, ALL damage remains Kill damage, and Dark Side Points are applied normally.
