LIGHTABER CONSTRUCTION RULES

LIGHTABER CONSTRUCTION RULES

GM: A Special Session for Lightsaber Design is now open. *motions for the Zabrak (Xadao) to approach* Padawan, the act of building a lightsaber is a rite of passage for any Jedi - you are embarking on a journey to craft a tool that is not only rare and precious, but the very symbol of the path you have chosen to undertake. Today, we will take the first step toward your quest for Knighthood.

GM: As such, we must approach lightsaber design with wisdom and respect for the weapon that will be the extension of our very selves. Having said that, designing a weapon with the kind of functionality that will suit your most every purpose, is of special significance. Are you prepared to begin drafting your lightsaber specifications?

PC: Xadao approaches when asked, nodding the affirmative, "I am prepared to draft the design for my lightsaber, Master."

GM: Present your documents, please. *waits for the flimsiplasts or a datapad with said design plans to be produced*

PC: Xadao withdraws the datapad he planned for this moment, and begins to design the lightsaber he had in mind. The aesthetics were simpleton, and cylindrical, as all lightsabers were. Made from titanium alloy, his external parts would be of normal grade and quality whereas his internal parts would all be forged to a higher quality (+1 Internals). He made enough room for a single modification, a cell recognizer, so that if his blade were lost in the midst of battle it could not be turned against him. With the feat done he handed his datapad carefully over to his Master, with a bow of his head.

PC: (Internal Slots used: 6, External Slots used: 7 - this includes both default Internals and Externals. Allowing for 1 extra Internal slot, and 2 extra External slots for the use of the Cell Recognizer in the lightsaber. The base Internals will all be of +1 quality. The small sensor array, and recognition chip will cost a total of 1150 credits and adds 4 DC to the lightsaber design and internals construction. Casing construction starts with a base of Easy, Titanium adds 0 DC, and each external slot, a total of 7, adds 1 DC to the casing construction roll for a total of 13 DC, Moderate. Internals assembly starts at Base of 6, with 5 base Internal slots and an extra Internal slot for a total of 7 DC - totaling 13 DC, Moderate for Internals assembly. Xadao will be using the Viridian Mephite Crystal that is Attuned through the Force to him.)

GM: OOC: The basic difficulty for planning out a lightsaber with its required components, is 10 (Easy). This will change if you intend on using any modifications, as is the case with yours. Given that your only listed modification is a Cell Recognizer, the difficulty of the design will thus be increased to 14, 4 DC being derived from the single internal and two external slots in addition to the basic components.

GM: OOC: In summary, you have 6 (5+1) internal and 7 (5+2) external slots, for a total of 13 slots. You may roll Roll Lightsaber Repair to finalize your Padawan lightsaber design. You may apply bonuses from a lightsaber toolkit, up to 2 CP and 1 FP if you deem it appropriate and/or necessary.

GM: The Jedi Knight looks over the presented data and takes a moment to check everything to make sure the design is sound. After a prolonged moment of silence, she hands the datapad over to the Padawan and bids him to proceed. "Padawan, Your explanation of the workings of your planned lightsaber design shows that you have a sound understanding of what the process entails. You may now use the specifications shown to create a visual matrix of your weapon."

PC: Xadao gets to work attempting to create said visual matrix of his newly datapad designed weapon. He would utilize Raine's Lightsaber Kit in an attempt to aide him with the process, and when ready set out in an attempt to turn the design itself into the visual matrix his Master had requested. (Lightsaber Repair, 5D6 + 1D6 from Raine's Lightsaber Kit. Total 6D6)

Xadao Rolls: (6d6) -- 2 6 2 1 3 4 -- Total: 18

GM: OOC: Success. Xadao, you have crafted a design for a Padawan lightsaber: Design Slots: Required External Slots - 5, Extra External Slots - 2, Required Internal Slots - 5 and Extra Internal Slots - 1. Total Design DC: 14 - Completed

GM: "Congratulations, Padawan, on creating the specifications of your first lightsaber. I look forward to our next meeting, where you will have the opportunity to craft the weapon you have designed today. OOC: The Special Session (Xadao) is now Closed. Thank you for attending.

PC: Xadao bows in thanks to his Master before responding, "And I shall as well, Master. Thank you for this opportunity." Xadao would then exit the area and scene, at the side of his Master.
