Character Bio:
Radiant is the final son of a long line of a dying bloodline. For millennia, the men and women of the Tide bloodline have been key members in altering the path of history by seeking out and systematically obliterating criminal organizations and groups that threaten peace for the whole of the galaxy. Their actions have felled uprisings, and taken even the most powerful dictators down several notches throughout history. All the while, each and every Tide has been a part of their own Force Tradition, which started from the very first member of the Tide family, Thane.
Thane had formerly been a member of the Jedi Order in his own time, when the rules were less strict and more forgiving to the natures of men. He began a family with the purpose to continue his legacy of defending the galaxy from the known evils. Through some unknown promise, Thane had left the Order on good terms and was allowed to operate as he saw fit as an individual. He severed all literal ties to the Order, though he still acted on their behalf and adhered to most portions of their Code, though he never said as such. The Tide family flourished for several generations, following Thane`s example of chivalry and heroism throughout history. And while their actions may seem drastic to many, and uncalled for and irrational to others, no one can argue with the results of their work.
Each Tide, whether male or female, is taught in an almost Mandalorian fashion, being trained in combat from the time they can walk. This isn`t done to create warriors, but rather to ensure the highest quality of Defender. They are taught to be void of hatred, like the Jedi. Though due to human nature, some of the children of Tide are more adept at controlling their feelings than others.
Radiant was very young when Order 66 was issued. He was training with his father at their home on Deralia. Several members of the Tide family were old enough to be out on their own, and were conducting covert operations throughout the galaxy, supporting the Jedi in their roles in the Clone Wars from unseen shadows. It seemed that the upcoming Empire however, had known about their actions through a shadowy network of their own, and had systematically killed off the Tides at the same time as the Jedi. The only individuals left of the Tide blood were Xephron, his father, and Radiant.
Xephron took his son and went into hiding, utilizing his contacts in the criminal underworld to gain asylum. All the while he continued to train Rade as best as he could without using heavy Force Powers to draw attention to them. Being the last members of the Tide line however, Xephron felt the need to at least try and continue the operations of their dead family members. Unfortunately, on one such operation, a contact had given them false information and lured them into a trap laid by the Empire, trying to root out Force Sensitives. The trap was successful to a degree.
The Black Sun organization had been hired through untraceable lines to kill the people who fell into the trap. When Xephron and Radiant realized what was going on, it was too late. The ambush hit and Radiant was wounded by a knife strike to the left side of his face. Xephron was unable to protect his son as well as he had hoped, and was forced to fall back under the pressure of extreme numbers opposing them. He made Radiant promise to remember his lessons and go into hiding. He knew it was his time. Radiant was forced into an air shaft barely wide enough to accommodate his body. He wasn`t far enough away to not hear the ensuing battle and the death of his father, and forced himself to a position that he could see behind him. Rade saw his father fall, and next to his face was the foot of the Bothan who had waited for the right moment to strike, and had stabbed him in the back.
Radiant escaped that day, but has never been the same since. He developed a severe case of Claustrophobia that day, among other stress related ailments.
He continued to train however, as best as he could by himself, until the day when he heard of whisperings about a resistance group attempting to overthrow the Empire. They were going to need all of the help they could get, and Rade had a grudge to settle with the Empire. So he went hunting for the people brash enough to oppose the Emperor and his rule…
Personality:
Quiet, keeps to himself for the most part. Kind at heart, willing to sacrifice himself for others, though he distances himself from interaction. Keeps an almost "standoff-ish" posture to keep people from approaching him. He used to smile every chance he got. But he doesn`t do that much anymore.
