Nix grinned. "Pleasure to meet ya, Master Corvus. Most people call me Nix for short. Oh no relation to Lana by the way... although she's been teaching me about the Force some."

Nix attempted to float the coin over into Corvus's hand.

Grey eyes embedded themselves in Phoenix's face, studying her features for a moment. "Just Corvus is fine. Some call me by my middle name - Arca - and that too, is acceptable." Cryptic grin. "So, Nix... I've read your file but a file does not say much about a person outside the obvious. I am much more interested in the covert. Not that I suggest you start undressing... we haven't installed the dancing poles yet."

His head turned, palm closing around the coin as he bowed curtly and pivoted on one heel, walking back to the comfy section of the lounge. Then, aking up a seat in one of the richly appointed leather chairs, he leaned forward and opened up his palm again, studying the coin for a moment, before turning in the direction of the trio and waving them over.

"Well? Come on. I've got fine brandy to taste. Let's get this show on the road!"

He wasn't about to start without them and being such a perfect gentleman and Jedi, he would wait till they joined him in the 'comfy' section of the lounge....

Raine did not have to be asked twice. She walked over to the sitting area which Corvus occupied and took up a seat on one of the couches, waiting for the others to join in, hopefully. "I'm here, bright eyed and bushy tailed, master." She smiled at Corvus and winked.

Matthias figured he was here, might as well go along for the ride. He got up from his corner booth and made for where Corvus was about to do his shenanigans with the Force. "Okay, let's get this magic show going."

Nix grinned. "Not much to tell about me. I am a foundling. Grew up in a shitty foundling home. Finally ran away, spent time on the streets. Joined a pirate gang, the Hidden Daggers. And took...well won one of their ships. Nothing like a good ole game of chance to piss someone off. I took their ship and started to freelance as a smuggler. Anyway enough prattle....some Brandy is always welcomed."

"I think someone is presuming little too much," Corvus winked at Nix. That little minx was getting nowhere near his prized brandy - not if he had anything to say about it! "For now however, I'd like to see about solving the mystery of this coin. So before I start, tell me as much as you know about it, and don't hold back any details, Miss Star..."

"Well a girl can hope...." Nix said with standard Corellian flare and bravado. " And I may not be a Twi'lek dancing girl but I am a decent dancer... although I tend to do dancing more with a ship than my body."

She sighed contemplating over the coin. "It was left with me as a babe. For the longest I had no idea that it was a Jedi Credit. It was pretty scratched up. I not sure when I found out it was a Jed Cred...but...I did... and the fact that because I was left with no name and the credit had a firebird and a star on it. I was named Phoenix Star. Later on I ran into one of the Empire's inquisitors. They said I had the Force and they tried to press me into their service.... but I refused. You know the Empire they don't exactly take no for an answer. So I have been on the run ever since."

"A good name, that," Corvus commented while flipping the coin and looking at it closely. "It surprises me that they just let you go - the Imperials - after you told them no. Most Force-sensitives were shot on sight, no questions asked. Not that I'm suggesting your story is not true, miss Star... but perhaps you got really, really lucky - this time around. Of course, most Jedi don't really believe in luck."

Then again, I'm not most Jedi.

"Alright then," the Hapan said after having his fill of looking the coin up and down. "It's time to see if the Force will gain us more insight into this little heirloom."

Closing his eyes, the Jedi master focused deeply on his connection to the Living Force. The coin rested in his palm, the fingertips of the other gently pressing against the center of the obverse, touching the phoenix symbol. He would attempt to look as far back as he could in time, and see if there were any recognizable faces or objects that would provide some clues as to Phoenix Star's family...

Random Complications: NO effect.

Result (Farseeing): After a handful of minutes of focused meditation, Corvus is able to see the owner of the coin prior to Phoenix receiving it as an infant. The Jedi is also able to see the immediate surroundings of the owner just prior to passing the Jedi credit onward. Most major and critical details surrounding the coin and its prior owner are unveiled, missing only a couple of details which should not impact the overall purpose of Arca's task.
@Phoenix Star - the GM can come up with the background for the coin (owner, circumstances, etc.) unless you have something in mind already - in which case please PM this GM with the details on the forum - thanks!

Nix laughed "Who said anything about the Imperials letting me go? They didn't. I spent so much time running and trying to evade them. Eventually they got frustrated because the places I hid got more and more perilous to hide. They figured either I was dead or just insane."

She winked at Corvus and took a swallow from her flask. She then was quiet and waited for whatever would happen with his navel gazing at her coin....

"Then you got extremely lucky. Normally, the Imperial stormtroopers shoot on sight and they are not sloppy or careless when capturing fugitives. Must have been an interesting scenario, to say the least," Raine muttered under her breath, not really wanting to interrupt Master Dalen's meditation as she stared deftly ahead. She would remain silent until Corvus spoke, or a ship-wide alarm sounded - whichever came first.

After what seemed like an impossibly long while, Corvus finally opened his eyes and glanced to Phoenix. He leaned forward, reaching out with his hand as he moved to return the coin back to her - and then began describing what he just perceived in the Force-guided vision:

At first, Corvus saw nothing but the coin, appearing freshly minted and shining brightly in the mirror of his mind. After a moment, a shape of a humanoid came into view: a male with slightly brown skin and raven hair, long hair draped over his shoulders. He looked a lot like Nix - and so the Jedi Master surmised he would have been her ancestor. He then witnessed a grand feast with friends and family, and a woman seated next to the man wearing green Jedi robes. He handed her the coin and she smiled. The female looked similar in appearance to the Green Jedi with the exotic skin coloring and striking ink-black hair.

The next image presented the man and the woman raising a family and then training them in the ways of the Jedi. But at one point the male disappeared from the vision and Corvus could only surmise that he had died.

The woman was left to raise her children alone for a while, passing the coin to her firstborn son when he became a Jedi Knight. The rest of the images showed the coin being passed on throughout various family members, from one generation to the next.

The final vision showed a man and a woman, both Green Jedi. The former bore a striking resemblance to Nix's ancestor at the onset of the vision - and could have been her father? Corvus felt a strong connection there. The couple appeared to be very much in love and before the vision dissipated, the Jedi master could have sworn that he heard a soft cry of an infant somewhere far, far away.

"That was all the Force has shown me," he said, after a brief pause, his gaze still locked with the Corellian female. "No names, though - that is something you would have to search for, in the Green Jedi Archives."

Nix responded. "Stormtroopers are not that bright and their aim is bad. Inquisitors...now that's another story. The Inquisitor I met....she insisted I be captured alive. Although I agree with the whole odd... unusual aspect of even that. I am not that unique...unless there's something I am missing in the whole I am just a common pirate turned smuggler thing."

Phoenix frowned at Corvus's description. "That's not very helpful. I mean no names....and going back to Corellia isn't in the cards for me at this point in time. Another fracking dead end. What am I going to do with the knowledge of family but not even a hint of a name?"

At least she did not have her mother beheaded with a Wookiee berserker's blade as she was forced to watch, Raine thought and shrugged inwardly at Nix's initial comments. Stormtroopers were very precise, and the girl did not know what she was talking about. In fact... they were only known to miss (on purpose) when they mean to capture someone alive. Out loud, she said, "Everyone is unique or special in some way. Obviously, you are Force-sensitive so there is that already. A pretty damn good start, if you ask me."

"In Force visions, people don't wear name tags," Corvus said irritably, noting the lack of gratitude whatsoever, in the Corellian's voice. "What you can do? I will tell you what you can do. You can have an image of what they looked like, since it's firmly embedded in my noggin'," the Jedi master said while tapping the side of his head - not a single hint of exasperation in his voice.

"I can have them drawn, painted, digitally reproduced - whatever. And that is a lot more than some of us will ever have." he did not look to Raine directly but it was obvious he had the clone in mind when he spoke.

Matthias simply sat there, listening to all that was going on. The Force mumbo jumbo wasn't exactly his cup of tea, but he knew it had it's uses. So he sat there, waiting for Corvus to do his thing and when he passed on what he saw, Matt nodded. It was useful information. Not the greatest, but it was still better than nothing.

When she started whining about no names, he could see in the way Corvus' voice sounded when he spoke to her next. He decided for what it's worth, to put his two credits in. "Hey kid, he did what he could. Show a little gratitude. And if he gets you pictures from inside his noggin of what your parents looked like, or anything for that matter, well that's a good place to start. I've tracked down people with only pictures before. It's not impossible. Also, ever heard of something called a reverse face search? Get access to a facial database and you can run a search using those photos."

Then he shrugged, because she already admitted defeat. "But like you said, it's not like you can go back to Corellia anytime soon. And honestly, who'd want to? It's crawling with Imps now. I highly doubt the Green Jedi would have survived the Purge anyways. Emperor Waffle Face doesn't like to leave any loose ends, so I've been told."

Nix sighed. She guessed the knowledge was better than nothing but she was impatient and probably didn't understand how exactly this Force related vision stuff worked. "I guess I was hoping there would be more to it than..."

Her shoulders slumped. Her finger ran over the coin. "But it's more than the coin in my hand."

"It's definitely a family heirloom, Nix. I suggest you follow Corvus' and Matthias' advice and once you have an image in hand, run it through the database of the Orion - or better yet - the Jedi master's ship. I bet that one has more extensive databanks." Raine smiled, then reached out to squeeze Nix's hand. "You are definitely on the right track here, and I think the vision gave us a solid starting point. We must be patient and do this step by step... and I am certain that you will reap just rewards in the end."

Nix nodded. She wasn't one to normally offer thanks. It wasn't something she normally did. She offered a big Corellian cheesy grin and pulled out some coin and plopped them down. "A round of drinks for all in honor of Master Corvus."

It was the closest Master Corvus was going to get as gratitude and thanks from Phoenix.

"Now that's what I"m talking about," Corvus exclaimed, winking at Phoenix. "A woman who knows a man's mind. Much thanks," he added, flashing her back a grin of his own. But in the back of his mind, the Jedi master was already filing the image of Nix's youthful parents in the back of his mind so that he could recreate it later, for future use. In the meantime, the server droid came over taking note of Phoenix's order before wheeling away...
