Character Bio:
Early life:
Born in 8 BTC (roughly 3600 years BBY), the Lethan Twi'lek was sold by her mother when she determined Aayla (a name she adopted for herself later) was not force sensitive and would fetch a good price given her rare skin tone. Her owner was a creep that called her only "Slave." He owned a cantina on Rishii in which he offered an unique service, young twi'lek "dancers." Aayla burned the cantina to the ground after he forgot to put her shackles back on before passing out one night when he was "finished with her." She made no attempt to save the wretch.
Teen/Young Adulthood:
Aayla was discovered by a young twi'lek woman as smoke filled the streets of Rishii. The Twi'lek, Proelya, and her life partner, a human named Elykia, offered the courageous girl a home with them on their smuggling vessel and the opportunity to leave the hellhole called Rishii behind. She would spend the next 14 years being mentored by Proelya and Elykia, along with some of their long term contacts that quickly became friends to the you Twi'lek girl. Through her new family, she was taught to defend herself and others, to value all living things, and the various tricks of their preferred trade - smuggling.
Two very different jobs she participated in with her new family would change the course of her life during this time. The first left Elykia severely injured, and ultimately permanently disfigured. Aayla was driven to learn everything she could about field medicine for the next several years - even working with a mentor, Joan, a retired Republic medical officer, and the very woman that patched Elykia up. A few short years later, the trio would take on a bounty hunting job, rare for them but credits were credits in those days. This particular bounty kept a number of slaves and also aided in the sale of slaves. Freeing those in his possession at the time of his capture, Aayla decided her talents could be best served this way. Helping those that were unable to help themselves.
Adulthood:
Over the last several years, Aayla has built a successful network of her own. Her primary objective? Freeing slaves and aiding refugees from the seemingly never ending wars. During this time she took a strange job to help free a man wrongfully imprisoned in return for a large favor from the anonymous client paying her. With the aid of a strange and sudden ally, a human looking droid named Feather, and a massive prison riot, their target was freed and at the request of the client, allowed to go and do whatever he'd like. Aeetos and Feather elected to continue to work with the strange twi'lek woman, adding much needed muscle and piloting skills to her personal operations.
Over time Aeetos and Aayla grew close, though she reserved the right to slap the Mandalorian silly when he pulled stupid hero moves that could get him or others killed. The mysterious client remained just that - a mystery. A puzzle they pursued between jobs as the mystery client still owed Aayla that favor.
Personality:
Aayla is level headed, constantly looking for the next best move in a fight and uses her own sense of humor to lighten tension - within herself or others. Perpetually snarky, she always has a comment for whatever the situation. Those that know her very well would call her everything from compassionate to feisty. She rarely loses her tight control on her emotions and when she does, she makes sure it is well away from prying eyes and ears.

Character Traits:
Positive: +5
- Ambidextrous Fighting – during combat, the character can perform equally well with either hand without incurring Off-Hand penalties. (+2)
- Gifted Learner - The character has an uncanny ability to learn new skills and improve old ones, limited to one attribute at any given time: Knowledge. S/he always learns new skills as if s/he had a teacher (even if s/he does not), and s/he can improve skills s/he already knows at a cost of one Character Point less than normal. This Special Ability applies to specializations. (+3)
- Uncoordinated - The character has no physical grace to speak of and is, in face, something of a klutz. Add +1 to the difficulty of all Dexterity-based skills. (-2)
- Prejudice - The character is of a minority group that is subject to prejudice and discrimination. The character receives modifiers to the difficulties (from +2 to +4) during normal interaction with characters not of the minority group, and is generally treated unfairly by society. The character is a Twi'lek female, commonly perceived throughout the galaxy as merely sex objects. Knowledge and capability are often taken for granted by more "anti-alien" personality types. (-2)
- Stutter - When under pressure the character stutters. The downside is the character suffers +3 to the difficulty of any interaction at this time and the player should roleplay having a "hard time" getting his/her ideas across to the other players. (-3)
