Character Pic: Character Bio: Nyles Kote was born on Mand'alor to Shaela and Ruhr Kote on a small homestead not far from Keldabe. Shaela and Ruhr had met each other while serving with Jaster Mereel's True Mandalorians. With his parents serving in the protectors, he spent a lot of time with his grandparents, but his parents made sure that whenever there was time between jobs they spent it with him. Fortunately for the young couple, the jobs were quite aplenty, and so they had enough credits to provide for their young family. Shaela had considered leaving to spend more time with Nyles, but the True Mandalorians needed every skilled pilot they had, and her experience with the Meteor Q-carriers as well as the larger Shadlaars was considerable enough that she'd been asked to stay. Ruhr was the commander of a scout team, and knew that as much as he wanted to be with his ad'ika, his place was with his team.

Nyles was a perceptive young lad, however, and picked up relatively quickly as to why his parents weren't around most of the time. When he was around five, he asked his father to teach him to fight. Shaela and Ruhr had a very important conversation that night about whether starting Nyles' training this early was a good idea or not. Most Mandalorians started formal training under their parents when they were anywhere between 6-8, so they decided that starting him off on the basics wouldn't be the worst thing. What did surprise both Shaela and Ruhr was the notable hand-eye coordination that their son possessed. Encouraged, both parents began to teach him the basics of blaster handling and simple hand to hand drills. On his sixth birthday, Nyles was given his first blaster. It was a Keldabe Arms HB-3C Military Holdout Blaster, cheap and plain, but effective. His father showed him how to draw quickly and fire accurately after doing so, with his mother alternating between lookin on in pride and adding supplemental instruction.

The very next day, Nyles was there to see his parents off at the Keldabe spaceport. He got to see Jaster Mereel giving his troops a rousing speech before they shipped out. Standing where he did, Jaster was like a mythical figure, like the invincible Mand'alors of old who dueled Jedi and lived to tell the tale. To Nyles anyways, that was the case. Little did he or anyone else at the spaceport who wasn't shipping out know, this was the last time they'd see Jaster Mereel. When the Ramikadyc arrived in orbit of Mandalore again, not everyone who'd left was there. Among the fallen, was Mand'alor Jaster Mereel. Jaster was buried, and the entire crew had come to pay their respects. Nyles was with his parents at the short ceremony. The whole experience left a lasting impression on the young Mandalorian, but also his parents.

Seeing as someone needed to help pick up the slack with Nyles' training, Shaela contacted former Ori'rammikade and father of her friend Nir Kyrdol, Ikaan Kyrdol and asked if he could help with Nyles' training while they were gone. Ikaan agreed, and so when the next time Shaela and Ruhr had left with the rest of the True Mandalorians, Nyles spent time training with Ikaan, who picked up on the boy's promise. Confident that Nyles was future Ori'rammikad material, he put him in with the other students he was training for the Ori'rammikade without consulting his parents. Nyles actually performed well, showing particular talent for marksmanship and swordsmanship. When Shaela and Ruhr came back, and Ikaan delivered his news, they couldn't be happier. Ruhr began teaching his son everything he knew. His second in command, Vriz Spar, commented that he was sure Nyles would grow up to be a skilled and strong warrior.

Shaela decided that perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to take her son up in her old Ra'gr Multi-Role Starfighters that was lying around at home. Nyles picked up the basic concepts of flight relatively easily, but it wasn't till he was about seven that he could actually operate some of the controls. When Nyles was eight, two important events happened in his life; his sister Saram was born and his formal training began. Nyles trained under his parents, Ikaan and Nir Kyrdol even helped him hone his flying skills. Nyles doted on his baby sister every moment of the day. As they both grew older, Nyles and Saram remained extremely close.

When he was eight, he began accompanying his parents on the various jobs that the True Mandalorians took. As Nyles trained, it became clear that while he was a talented marksman, swordsman and could handle himself better than most in hand to hand, his true talents lay at the controls of a starship. When he was twelve, Nyles had the honor of being signed up with the True Mandalorians as a fighter pilot. Ecstatic, Nyles decided to wake his sister up at the dead of night and take her on a quick flight.

NIr Kyrdol, however, had other plans. At his request, Nyles was put at the controls of one of the Shadlaar troopships. Nyles flew surprisingly well, and so right after his verd'goten, Nyles among a number of others were evaluated for the position of helmsman. It was close, but in the end, Nyles proved himself a better candidate. What came next was a comprehensive training course that Nir administered himself, and Nyles held onto every word that the older Mandalorian said.

At the end of that year, Nyles was the helmsman of the ship's third watch. He was pleasantly surprised when he found that his friend, Varan Varad, had become third watch's marine commander. Nyles and Varan's friendship became even closer. As time went on, Emri Tenau and Turoc Cadera, third watch's gunnery officer and one of the ship's more promising engineers joined this friend group. Nyles' parents couldn't be more proud of him. This good fortune, however, was not to last.

The next contract that the True Mandalorians took on was at a planet called Galidraan. The job seemed easy enough, and everyone was in high spirits. This continued when the job got done relatively quickly. The ship's mess had churned out a Mandalorian favorite, spiced leathermeat, and had followed that up by making enough uj cake for the entire ship. All was quiet when third watch took over, but moments after this had happened, contacts dropping out of hyperspace were detected by the ship's scanners. Trying to reach Mand'alor Fett on the ground, and then Myles when that failed, the crew found out that Jango had dropped out of contact. Finding their comms jammed immediately afterward, and with Republic Judicial forces demanding that they power down their weapons, engines and shields and prepare to be boarded, Captain Netra ordered his crew to open fire.

Nyles proved his worth as a helmsman, first buying as much time as possible for the ship's gunners, and then executing a complicated maneuver that gave them the advantage over the Republic flagship, a Invincible-class Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser. As they made their way to the enemy flagship, the Republic sent several light assault cruisers to harry them. The Ramikadyc's gunners struggled to fend off the smaller lighter ships with their guns, meant for engaging larger capital ships for the most part. Deploying bombers to deal with the threat, a single ship managed to slip under the fields of fire and managed what was clearly a suicidal forced docking maneuver.

Netra ordered the ship's marine contingent, under third watch's commander Varan Varad, to deal with this. As Nyles and the bridge crew continued their efforts against the other Republic ships, and the bombers dealt with the small Republic light assault cruisers, Varan and his men fought on valiantly against the Republic boarding party. Using a combination of concussion rifle fire and explosive slugs fired from assault scatterguns, Varan with support from his second in command managed to neutralize the Jedi leading the boarding attempt. With the enemy ship disconnected and the Jedi secured, the crew could carry out their duties without worrying about hostile troops potentially running amok aboard the ship.

Thanks to Nyles's ability to execute a difficult and daring maneuver outlined by Netra, Emri was able to direct a barrage of missiles and mass driver fire into the rear end of the enemy flagship, which ended that threat. As they made to return to orbit to aid their ground forces against Republic forces that had slipped past them in the chaos, a Procurator-class Battlecruiser dropped out of hyperspace and forced them to retreat, despite the fact that so many of their own were on the surface of Galidraan. No one dared to argue with Netra when he gave the order, because they knew that as much as they wanted to help, if they stayed to fight they would be dead.

As the ship jumped to hyperspace, Netra and the surviving Mandalorian 'officers' met to discuss what to do with the Jedi. Before a decision could be reached, however, the commander of the Ori'rammikade team held in reserve, Ragar Nihut'tyr beheaded the Jedi and left before anyone could voice their protest. The battle damaged Ramikadyc limped back to a MandalMotors facility at Gargon, where they jettisoned the body of the Jedi into space. News of what had happened at Galidraan spread like wildfire among the clans. Netra rushed off the ship to go talk with the various clan leaders, leaving the rest of the crew of the Ramikadyc to themselves.

Now that they were back in friendly space, it was only now that Nyles allowed his concern for his father to weigh heavy on him. He knew that he'd been with Jango and the others, but told himself that his father was more than capable of handling himself against some Republic shabuire. Nyles volunteered to join a team of SuperCommandos to head back to Galidraan on a reconnaissance operation to find out what had happened to the others. What awaited them was snow covered field strewn with bodies, Mandalorian, Republic and even a few Jedi. When Nyles found his father's body, he broke down then and there. It was far too much for the young Mandalorian to endure. With the bodies recovered, Nyles decided to keep his father's beskad.

When they returned, Nyles knew he had to be strong for his buir and vod. Times that followed were hard. Even so, the bonds of family and friendship were only strengthened by the loss of life on Galidraan. Every Mandalorian on the Ramikadyc had lost someone on Galidraan. Nyles's mother returned home to take care of his sister, while Nyles stayed with the Ramikadyc. Netra continued to captain the ship, finding work for them among the fringes of the Outer Rim. They ran into Jango Fett at a bar in Nar Shaddaa, where Netra practically begged him to return to lead the Mandalorians, but they all could see the truth in Fett's eyes; he was a broken man. Jango told them that he'd failed as their Mand'alor, and that they deserved someone better. The years went by, and no one really replaced the void left by Jango Fett. While Fett became infamous as the galaxy's foremost bounty hunter, the memory of one of the best recent Mand'alor's slowly started to fade from people's memories.

When Nyles was 20, Netra left to take over as clan leader of clan Netra, leaving Nir Kyrdol in charge. Nir appointed Nyles as his XO, believing him ready for the responsibilities of command. The crew of the Ramikadyc subsisted on putting down rebellions, anti-piracy and other assorted mercenary work. Nyles made more than enough to support his mother and his sister. When Nyles turned 21, he took some time off to prep his sister for her verd'goten. Saram passed her verd'goten with flying colors, and though meeting SuperCommando standards, decided to take up work with Mandalore's law enforcement. With Saram picking up the slack, Nyles spent a little more money on himself, buying himself an expensive Verpine Shatter Rifle that he'd been hoping to purchase for a while.

It was while on shore leave on Tatooine that Nyles and Varan were approached by Antarian Rangers, who had apparently been tracking the Ramikadyc. The others had gone to another bar. Nyles was only accompanying Varan to this establishment to meet an old friend of his. The four Rangers demanded that the two Mandalorians surrender at once, and at once things became clear to the two young Mandalorians. Back to back they stood, ready for a fight, and fight they did. First with fists, but then blasters were drawn when one Ranger shot Nyles in the abdomen plate at point blank range. Bruised, but no worse for the wear, Nyles and Varan quickly left knowing that more would probably come.

Nyles and Varan ran into Emri and Turoc, who were both also similarly bearing blast scorch marks on their armor, and who mentioned getting jumped by 'two shabuire' as well. Before any of them could say anything further, their comms came to life with Captain Kyrdol ordering them all back to the Ramikadyc immediately. When they got back, battlestations had already been called. Rushing to the bridge, once they were there, the Ramikadyc broke orbit with haste. Once they'd managed that, Nir explained what he knew about what was going on, but he didn't need to, because a they were hailed a moment later by a ship under the flag of the Antarian Rangers.

The other vessel was a Corellian manufactured DP-20, which on a good day, was no match really for a ship like the Ramikadyc. The crew of the Ramikadyc were battle hardened veterans, they had no compunctions whatsoever with letting their guns do the talking. Captain Kyrdol ordered the hail put through. The Antarian Ranger on the other end told them that they couldn't run forever, and eventually they would have to face justice for the lives they'd taken. Nyles would never forget the sheer bitterness in Nir's laugh, right before he replied with, "And who said we're running?" Nir immediately ordered the connection terminated, and ordered that the other ship be engaged. It was over in a matter of minutes. The other ship had barely acquired target lock before their mass drivers tore it apart. When all that was left was debris, Nir ordered them to accelerate to the system's edge and make the jump to hyperspace.

Things continued quietly for a while, with the jobs continuing to come their way. It seemed that whoever was after them decided that pursuing them was not a smart idea. As far as Nyles was concerned, they could keep coming if they wanted to. When Nyles turned 24, Nir Kyrdol placed him in command of the Ramikadyc, and retired. Nyles objected at first, citing his own lack of preparedness for command. Nir told him that he was more ready than he knew. Nyles needed an executive officer, and so he approached his old friend, Emri Tenau. Tenau had been training her replacement at the time, a young Mandalorian named Ram Cadera, and so she reluctantly accepted.

Two years later, Nyles's sister Saram requested to join them the next time they were back on Mandalore. Nyles was hesitant at first, but Varan promised to watch over her, and so Saram joined the crew as a scout for their ground forces. As Saram moved in, so did a young Mandalorian by the name of Viraen Kyrdol replace Karlo Ordo as leader of the vessel's Ori'rammikade contingent. Karlo was content with retiring, as his daughter had just given birth, and personally vouched for Viraen's abilities. Saram and Viraen ended up becoming fast friends.

Four years later and Saram was now commander of the scouts on the ship, and she and Viraen were more than friends. Nyles, being the overprotective brother that he was, kept a close eye on Viraen. Knowing their friend well, Emri and Varan, now also more than friends, talked Nyles out of doing anything stupid and ruining a good thing. Nyles, thank the Manda, listened to his vode.

They ended up taking a job as a convoy escort for the Hutts, escorting shipments of ionite from Bandomeer to Nar Shaddaa. It was on one such return trip that Nyles met the woman he would eventually marry. He was approached by a woman at the bar, who asked if he was here for work or business. When he replied he was here for both, she asked him if he was looking to make a few credits, and it was no small some. Intrigued, Nyles agreed to provide security for her. Even though he got the feeling that there was more going on than she was telling him, Nyles somehow couldn't help but be more interested in her. For the first time in a very long time, Nyles Kote was absolutely failing at something. As he managed to make a complete and utter fool of himself, Nyles at least managed to learn the woman's name and got her comm code, all with the pretext of staying updated about the job.

The next day, Nyles, Saram and Varan met with Helena Deviss. She walked with them to the meeting zone where she said she was supposed to meet with an arms dealer, and revealed that she was sure he was stealing from the Hutts. While Varan was suspicious, Nyles made the case that if someone was stealing from the Hutts, rooting them out might secure them a nice bonus. Varan yielded, but Saram didn't miss the opportunity about potentially falling for Ms. Deviss. While Nyles and Varan accompanied Ms. Deviss to the pre-arranged meeting location, Saram found a nice vantage point overlooking said meeting zone. Of course, as luck would have it, things devolved into a firefight pretty quickly. No sooner than it had, Ms. Deviss had drawn her sidearm and used Nyles as beskar armored mobile cover before he even knew what was going on.

At which point, Saram said over the comms, "Oh, I like this one." When the shooting stopped, and all the hostiles were either dead or neutralized, Nyles and Varan inspected the weapons that they had for 'sale', and upon realizing they were ionite based missiles, it wasn't hard to put two and two together and figure out that they were stealing the Hutts' weapons. While Varan and Saram took the weapons back to the Hutts, Nyles and Helena had some time together. Nyles offered to buy her some caf, which to his complete surprise, she agreed to. They had a long talk, at the end of which, Nyles asked if he could see her again the next day. She smiled and said that she'd very much like that. The next day came, and Helena was nowhere to be seen. He tried the comms code she'd given him and when he found out that the comms code was no longer valid did he realize what had happened, and who she was.

Generally disheartened by the experience, and blaming himself for being a patsy. While Varan couldn't wait to tell Nyles that he told him so, Saram reassured her brother that it was a mistake that anyone would have made. Four years went by and the crew of the Ramikadyc were involved in numerous small conflicts in addition to their usual mercenary work, from putting down a miner rebellion on Bandomeer to dealing with a particularly troublesome band of pirates who owed their origins to somewhere in the Vergesso asteroids. Then, while they're accepting their payment from the Hutts on Nar Shaddaa, Nyles gets a call from Helena. Of course, he didn't know that when he picked up, or he very well may not have. What did surprise him however, was that she came clean about everything. She offers to meet him to talk about a job, this time she'd come clean about all the details.

Despite every part of him telling him not to trust her, Nyles agreed to hear her out. Helena lays everything out for him, explaining the job she has on Ciutric IV, and explains that her employers pay very well. Deciding to keep his personal feelings out of this, and considering the substantial amount of credits that she was offering, he was inclined to accept it. Giving in at last, Nyles and the Ramikadyc followed Helena to Ciutric IV, and rendezvoused with her tactical team there. Their job was to root out a cell of rebels working against the ruling hegemony. Even though Nyles denied it, working with Helena again reminded him of why he had taken to her in the first place. During the operation, which ended on a successful note, Helena and Nyles grew a lot closer. A woman of her word, Helena made sure that they were paid, and told Nyles with a smile on her face that since they worked so well together they would have to do this again sometime.

They worked on and off with Agent Helena Deviss, and Nyles would take time off occasionally for reasons other than to visit his mother on Mandalore with his sister. Come 22 BBY, and Nyles hadn't heard from Helena for a while and to make matters worse the jobs have slowed down. The entire galaxy was on a war footing, and war was sure to follow soon. When news of Geonosis reached the rest of the galaxy, none of the crew were surprised. What did surprise them, however, were the few hundred Mandalorians who had disappeared ten years prior suddenly reappearing. None of them really spoke about what they were up to. Most Mandalorians understood that as business that didn't concern them, but rumors started circulating about the now late Jango Fett having hired Mando'ade to train the Republic's Clone Troopers.

As Nyles and the crew were trying to figure out just how to proceed from here, Nyles got a desperate message from Helena. The message stated that she was stuck on Botajef, and she really, really needed his help. Nyles, realizing that this was a personal call for help, knew that he he couldn't drag the crew into this. He also knew that if he took a gunship to Botajef on his own, he'd never make it back alive once his reason for being there got out. With no choice, Nyles told the bridge crew about what had happened, and told them that he had no right to ask them to help, but he was. Emri Tenau countered by reminding him that they'd followed him into hell in the name of credits, there was no reason they wouldn't follow him into hell now. Shouts of "OYA!" from the rest of the bridge crew removed any shred of doubt in his mind that they were willing to go along with this.

The Ramikadyc made a diversion to Botajef, signalling to the Separatist ships in orbit that they were here to stop for fuel. The Separatists bought their ruse, for now. Even the Separatist defense fleet however, didn't want to board a Mandalorian warship for an inspection. So Nyles took a Tal'galaar gunship down to the surface, taking with him Varan, Saram and Viraen. All three had volunteered, and Nyles, knowing better than to argue with them at a time like this, didn't. Reaching the last rendezvous point that Helena had sent him, they searched for almost two hours for her to no avail. Nyles was about to give up hope when Saram saw a woman running from a platoon of B1 battle droids, firing back at them as she ran. Taking the gunship in, Nyles raked the droids with fire before lowering the ramp and turning it to face Helena. Saram, Viraen and Varan raked incoming local law enforcement and their droid backup with fire while Helena ran for the ramp. As she collapsed in the troop bay from fatigue, Varan said over the radio to Nyles, "This one's a keeper, vod."

Unable to find work with the Separatists after narrowly escaping from Botajef for obvious reasons, Nyles and the crew started taking jobs from Republic Intelligence, intervening where the Republic couldn't afford to be seen intervening. One of these places was Qiilura, where they took over as a clean up crew in the aftermath of a Republic commando raid on Separatist facilities there, keeping the peace until the Republic sent the 35th Clone Legion to take over. They were recalled to aid in the First Battle of Kamino, but they arrived too late to have any real effect, but did manage to destroy a few Separatist ships while they retreated. Another operation saw them deployed to Tarhassan to stage a diversionary assault to cover the recovery of a Republic Intelligence agent. Their final actions of the first year of the Clone Wars was the neutralization of a band of Devaronian Pirates operating along the Corellian trade route, which notably involved tricking the pirates to pull them out of hyperspace by modifying their transponder to broadcast a known Republic cargo ship's, information they had access to courtesy of Helena.

By the second year of the war, Nyles worked up the courage to propose to Helena. Later that year, they were both happily married. The war ground on, but the crew of the Ramikadyc were happy to keep working for Republic credits, as it kept everyone occupied, fed and able to buy all the equipment that they ever wanted. All was well until he'd received some disturbing information from Kal Skirata, information about discrepancy with the Republic's credit spending patterns. Nyles was not one for conspiracy theories, but the evidence was enough for him and others to be concerned. Nyles made it a point to get ready to end his work with the Republic when the opportunity came. Helena promised that when the war was over, she'd quit her job at RI, and the couple elected to return to Mandalore to raise a family.

When the end of the war came, Helena and the crew of the Ramikadyc managed to make clean exit, with no one after them. Helena however, was ridden with guilt about those who couldn't make a clean exit, convinced that she could have done more to help them, especially when she received news of several of her close friends becoming targets of the new order for having the wrong ideas. Ridden with guilt, Helena began supporting upstart groups, sending information about former RI weapons caches to the few she'd found out about. What started out as logistical support, became far more in the coming months. It was about this time that she wasn't able to keep her activities a secret from Nyles any longer. Nyles told her that she was going to get involved in something that'd bring the Empire after her, and that he couldn't let her do this. She countered by reminding him that the Empire wasn't going to leave Mandalore alone forever, and that their already unhealthy interest in Beskar was an indication of this.

Relenting, Nyles himself got involved, and then eventually so did Saram, Varan, Viraen and eventually the Ramikadyc itself. At first, it was indeed just logistical support, but when they had to neutralize an Imperial Customs Frigate to keep their involvement secret, was when Nyles knew it was now all or nothing. Shysa secretly supported their actions, but warned Nyles not to push it too far. Even though they were constantly looking over their shoulder, things seemed to be going relatively okay for a while, that was, until it didn't. While refueling the Ramikadyc at a shadowport, the crew picked up Helena's distress beacon for a short moment before it suddenly went offline again. They began kicking down the door of various Imp outposts in the Rim, looking for Helena. By the time they'd found her, it was far too late.

Along with a number of other rebels, Helena had been taken captive by ISB, and though Nyles, Viraen, Saram, Varan and some of the Ori'rammikade managed to find the right outpost, by the time they'd reached Helena, she was already dead. Overtaken by grief and anger, Nyles beat the surviving ISB agents to death with his bare hands, none of those with him stopped him. As incensensed as he was, Nyles led the Ramikadyc on a massacre of Imperial outposts, custom and supply ships in the Rim, much to Mand'alor Shysa's disapproval. When they were done, Nyles knew that they couldn't return to Mandalore, nor could they really return to anywhere else in known space. It would only be a matter of time before the Empire found them.

Reminded of an old legend of a ship that possessed a weapon that could burn through Beskar like it was tissue paper, and that a Mandalorian ship chased it into the Unknown Regions, as they were restocking and refueling from a friendly shadowport, Nyles proposed the idea to the crew. Like him, they were convinced that if they found this ship, they could use it to fight the Empire. So, the crew set out for the Unknown Regions. The crew roamed the Unknown Regions for a while, dodging the Chiss and generally trying to stay out of the way as they searched for the mysterious ship and the Mandalorian crew that chased them down.

Personality: Nyles has lived his life with the Resol'nare and the traditional Mandalorian values taught to him by his parents and the other Mandalorians who trained him as the guiding compass of his life. Usually confident and a man of few words, Nyles does switch to a more awkward conversation style when he's not quite sure of the situation nor how to deal with those involved in said situation. Nyles has a preference for sardonic and a dry sarcastic wit, which he uses to hide the pains he's suffering from. As of late, he's found that tihaar helps with that too. Nyles is extremely loyal to his friends and family, as well as his crew, who he views as part of his family. Nyles would sooner die than let any harm come to them if he can help it, of course, he'd far prefer the enemy dies first.

The fact that Nyles has almost no friends among aruetiise, or outsiders to Mandalorian culture, is telling. His experiences haven't filled him with an abundant trust for such people, but especially after meeting Helena, Nyles' outlook has changed somewhat. He's more willing to let people prove themselves worthy of respect, and those that earn his respect, prove themselves worthy of his friendship.

As a Mandalorian, unarmed non-combatants are always left alone, but left with no other choice, especially as far as the lives of him and his are concerned, Nyles will regrettably issue the order to engage. Nyles has a severe and mutual hatred for the Empire, and a serious case of distrust as far as Jedi are concerned. Though the distrust has softened somewhat after the Clone Wars and Order 66, he's still on a 'no osik' policy, and at the slightest hint of deceit, he'll start shooting and ask questions later.

Part of Nyles regrets that he and Helena never managed to have any children, and so he's taken a very active role in helping Emri and Varan as well as Saram and Viraen take care of their kids.

Character Traits:
  • Character Trait Modifier: 0
  • Positive:
    • Ori'rammikade (SuperCommando): An Elite cadre of soldiers trained from the best warriors within the Mandalorian Society. The SuperCommandos are trained to be the most deadly soldiers that this warrior planet has to offer. This is a trait that confers a +20 Character Trait Modifier to a character, and provides the following bonuses:
      • DEX opposed +1
      • STR opposed +1
      • PERC opposed +1
      • +1D bonus to any one "Attack" skill (Such as Blaster, Firearms, Melee Combat, Brawling, Martial Arts, etc etc)
      • +1D bonus to dodge
      • One free Advanced DEX/PERC/STR skill of the characters choice. The skill must be combat related.
    • Iron Will – The character possesses more Willpower than the average person, and gains +1D when making a Willpower roll to resist influence attempts from hostile forces via Persuasion, Command, Intimidation, Torture, Affect Mind or Control Mind ONLY. (+6)
    • Silence - The character can move in complete silence. He gains +2D to all sneak checks and a +1D when attacking from behind. (+3)
  • Negative:
    • Bigotry - Nyles, being a Galidraan veteran, and having lost a parent there as well, has a particular distrust of Jedi over the standard Mandalorian distrust of force users. He takes -1D penalties to all interaction rolls (Con, Persuasion, Bargain, Value, etc.) except Intimidation against (Force Users) but gains +1D to Intimidation against (Force Users). (-2)
    • Cultural Unfamiliarity - Nyles, like most Mandalorians is completely unaware of how galactic society works, and after his wife's death he's decided he doesn't care. All attempts at Streetwise or similar "getting around town" skills should have a minimum +6 to the difficulty. (-3)
    • Prejudice - No one has forgotten the Mandalorian Wars. Mandalorians are looked on with a mix of fear, respect, anger and hatred. It is perhaps because of this that what the Jedi did to the Mandalorians at Galidraan was forgotten so easily. Most Mandalorians don't make friends outside of Mandalorians society very easily. The character receives modifiers to the difficulties (from +2 to +4) during normal interaction with characters not of the minority group, and is generally treated unfairly by society. The group the character belongs to, or the reason they are discriminated against, should be identified immediately, and the player should know how they can expect to be treated in most cases.(-2)
    • Addiction – Nyles developed a taste for tihaar soon after signing up with Jango's True Mandalorians, and when his wife died, tihaar became a coping method. Most notably because of how much it reminded him of better times. At any time the Game Master requests, the Character rolls Willpower and must pass a DC 21. In case of failure, character takes -2D penalty to all rolls until the difficulty check has been met, or they ingest the substance listed. (-8)
    • Vendetta – After the killing spree the Ramikadyc went on, both before and after finding former agent Deviss, they've gathered a lot of Imperial attention. Should the Ramikadyc even approach Imperial space, surely it would find itself staring down an Imperial fleet. When in the vicinity of this person or group, the player must roll 1d100. Any roll below 66 results in a confrontation. Upon Failure, the player may roll Willpower. If they meet the DC of 21, the player receives +1D bonuses to- Hide, Sneak, Running and Dodge for a total of 3 rounds. (-8)
    • Bonded Allegiance – Being an adherent of the Resol'nare, Nyles is oathbound to rally to his Mand'alor's call. While that is interpreted as 'as soon as he can get there', he and the rest of his crew must answer the call. If the character wishes to avoid assisting them, they must roll Willpower against a DC of 21. If the player succeeds, roll 1d100. Any roll below 66 results in the blood oath being broken, and Blood Oath is then converted to Vendetta from the target. (-6)

Ok, I've done a quick scan of your sheet proposal.

The character is very well written, and the sheet formatting is excellent.

The Character Traits are - well, you have a lot of them for a starting character, but everything appears backed by the story, and none of it is fanciful or implausible.

Your skill math is pretty close to correct - but I am not sure exactly how the specializations add up, and whether you're over the limit or not. I have to do some reading through the Martial Arts rules, and I'll get back to you on it.

---

As for equipment, you're starting with a lot more stuff than most characters do. However, due to your character's unique history, age, and the current stage of the Campaign that we're in, I'm perfectly fine with waiving the typical restrictions.

That said, you're unlikely to need, or want, to acquire much more in the way of gear than you already come with., so bear in mind that aside from a weapon or item here and there, you may not feel like you have a lot of opportunity to get cool new stuff that's better than what you already have.

Either way, I would caution you to read the rules regarding Loadouts, which is here: Loadout Template Thread

We use these rules as our encumbrance system, to prevent people from carrying unrealistic amounts of gear, and to force characters to be thoughtful about what equipment they take with them on any given adventure.

Just a note, please add your Mandalorian armor to the sheet. Once that's done, I'll give this one my final approval to be added to the Character database.
