Burnout.

It was the only word Junie could describe what it was she was feeling for the last couple of months. She never thought she would get so sick of seeing metal in all its forms. After all, her entire career has pretty much been about the manipulation of machines and metal. But everything from oil to filters to heavy metal tools was not just starting to irritate her at the sight, but actually make her feel ill. Especially pipes. She was starting to despise pipes just for their existence. she was tired of her hands being numb and arms being tired. She was truly sick of chasing wires that some vermin of some sort had chewed through and most likely fried itself crispy in the chewing.

If she never saw the glow of another data slate with words too tiny and equations too long she might die happy. Thankfully the datapad she was looking at now after another long day that resulted in her throwing out yet another pair of gloves counted down to leave, and her planned vacation. This she had been planning for at least a month, to simply take leave and vanish for two weeks. No people, just her and some sort of nature. Her reasoning was her own in many ways, but one that didn't hurt is she needed to stimulate her immune system again, breathing in doubly filtered air for so long she was afraid her immunities were shot, and the best way to settle that was to simply be around nature again. Though the idea of being sick for a week in the woods didn't sound great, it was also necessary. Besides, with correct immunoboosters it shouldn't be too awful...she rationalized.

As the last days counted down not her vacation she found herself thinking about actually going alone. She liked the idea of being alone. there was a lot of good to it, the quiet and solitude are most important in a lot of ways. But the more she thought of it the more she thought being truly alone for two weeks simply sounded...lonely. she started to get used to being trapped in a giant sardine can with thousands of other people. Maybe a more usual tourist trap was more appropriate? No certainly not. not unless she wanted to be on the evening news for murdering a bunch of vacationers. But maybe...

She stood up from her seat at Jilly's and finished her drink. tossing it on her way out. She might as well ask a friend to go. solving the lonesome feeling of alone whilst not really breaking the whole peace and quiet thing. The only problem is, Junie only really had one friend. Sure, Lana existed. But Lana was her master, her parent in many ways, and that just sounded a bit too...formal. Everyone else she was on talking terms with, but she did have one person she considered a friend.

She made her way to Raiens Cabin and rang the door chime three times. Figuring it was late enough she might be in.
