Even in his youth, Feyd shows intelligence and smartness, which his uncle puts far above the brutal strength and muscles of Feyd's older brother, Glossu.
Feyd is a charmer, with ease gaining hearts of others - which is another trait Baron Vladimir Harkonnen hopes to use to push Feyd (when he grows up) at political heighs.

ALLEGIANCE (HOUSE MAJOR - CANON): House Harkonnen
VOCATIONAL CONDITIONING: Noble
BACKGROUND HISTORY: Feyd-Rautha was born on Lankiveil as a son of Emmi and Abulurd Rabban, who was younger brother of Vladimir Harkonnen. His name originated from his grandfather of mother's side, Rautha Rabban.
When Feyd was just a toddler, his brother stole him from his parents and brought him on Giedi Prime, where his uncle wanted to raise him in "true Harkonnen manner", thinking that Abulurd would make Feyd weak and worthless. When Feyd arrived at Giedi Prime, his name was changed to Harkonnen.
So, Feyd was growing among Harkonnen injustice and overuse of power. His personality sank with it, making him selfish. Which of course were a welcomed trait of a real Harkonnen, according to Vladimir.
Feyd was trained since early youth in maneuvering inside the courts and people of noble heritage. He also started very early to learn about weapons and fighting styles - which made him gain lean and agile posture. He was getting education straight from the Harkonnen's twisted mentat, Piter de Vries.
Feyd's main goal for the future of course lays in becoming Baron one day. Even at the age of twelve, he knows though, that he can't do anything without his uncle's approval. He knows that he needs to listen to him and obey him, otherwise, Vladimir may replace him as easy as he replaced Glossu with him.
